This Victorian artists paint box think dates to around 1880 possibly little older the box is made of mahogany and has nice colour and patina with age as seen in the photos on the the lid there is an impressed mark "Department of Science & Art Reward "and crown in the centre as shown inside there is lift out section with some brushes etc and compartments for paints etc underneath there is another compartment which has porcelain mixing tablet with makers name on the back inside the lid is the original label and makers name for Charles Roberson & Co as shown, the box measures 9.5 3.75 1.75 inches and in good condition just some wear and tear inside with use
