Lighthouse of Cordouan France 1788 detailed blueprint plan the most “luxurious” lighthouse ever built. This lighthouse originally started construction in 1584 by Louid de Foiz on the island of Cordouan at the mouth of the Gironde in the Bay of Biscay. The lower section was 134 feet in diameter and contained the lighthouse keepers living quarters, central hall and chapel… and maintenance shop. She stood 197 feet tall and the lantern was lit by wood burning fire. The lighthouse was rebuilt in 1788 and still stands today…..plan measures 13 17 inches and is produced on standard type blueprint paper….200….This is not the original plan but real blueprint made from an original.
