Terrific miniature antique Chinese sterling silver happy buddha. Circa 1800s.The happy buddha is actually child's hat ornament. It was meant to be sewn on child's cloth hat for protection of the child. happy buddha ensures plentiful in the child's life.There is lot of detail on the ornament even though the size is very small. You can see details on his expression and his ornate robe.The design is hammered from the inside.There are holes on the sides and the base for sewing.Measurement: cm x 1.5 cmThe battery is there for size comparison only.
