This box is made of solid wood with rosewood veneer. The front and hinged lid have pewter stringing with inlaid discs of mother of pearl at the corners and the centre. There is damage to five of the corners of the box. There is line of stringing missing from the bottom of the front. There is working lock with its key. The inside is lined with red paper. It has lift out 'tray' which is made from the lid of another box. The underside of the base has green felt covering that is now stained. The box measures approx. 248mm 172mm 97mm.
