rare sterling silver and gold Frenchsnuff box. It is hallmarked with the French 950-1000 standard and guaranteemarks dated 1819 to 1838 along with the makers mark. It has been beautifully designedhaving an engine turned top and base with superbly decorated flower sides. Thecartouche and hing are gold, the cartouche is free from any engravings. It is in superb condition being freefrom dings splits and repairs, light scrtaches to the base and light tarnish marks to the lid which should clean off. It measures over inches (7.9cms) long by 2inches (5cms) across by 0.5 inch (1.2cms) and weighs 69 grams. superb early rare example.
