Superb, exceptional authentic and early Chinese high relief carved Jade plaque. Colors are mottled white to golden brown, most likely representative badge of high rank. Was sewn into garment in the late Ming to early Chang dynasties, fro the beginning to end of the 17th century; from Won- Li reign to Kang Hsig., With powerful presence and very fine execution, writhing dragon catches the flaming pearl. The top and bottom edges are channeled to receive threads, each of its four corners are diagonally pierced by bowdrill, for attachment. Measures 55mm wide, by 63 mm long, by 8mm at the thickest. Weighs 2.2 ounces, or 60 grams. Superb, best describes this historic piece.
