Old Short & Mason Handheld Barometer, No. K4249-

Another interesting item from California thrift store. It's doing something, but really can't tell if it's functioning properly. The needle goes back and forth from 23 1/2 to 24, when our barometer outside is between 29 and 30, perhaps it just needs to be calibrated. Sadly, the ring at the top snapped right off when pulled it out of the case.
Measures 3/4 inch across and slightly over 3/4 inch thick. Altitude ring around the edge spins freely.
I can't tell if this felt-lined case is original to the item. My father used to work with leather lot, he tells me that the inner part of the pouch is real leather and the rest is synthetic. couple seams are coming apart at the edge, and the inner leather part has some cracks that one would expect with leather 40 years old or more.
No markings on case, the barometer itself says on the front, Compensated For Temperature, No. 4249, and Short & Mason London Made in GT Britain.
