This shallow box is made of solid mahogany. The top of the lid has an inlaid brass cartouche. The lid has suffered split across it. The front of the box has an inlaid brass escutcheon. The exterior of the box has suffered scratches and marks. One back corner joint is not completely flush. There is working lock with its key. The interior is lined with dark blue velvet. The base is fitted to accomodate two items. The top of the lock has suffered scratches. The box measures approx. 199mm 109mm 42mm.
