This gorgeous antique brass, jade and cherrywood jewellery box, dating from around 1850, has three embossed silk lined drawers. The lining has been made to hold jewellery, one drawer has seperate ring holder. Each drawer has detailed brass hinged handles. There are four floral inserts of nephrite jade. This fine box is covered all around with Brass fittings of ribbons and styalised bats. The carrying handle at the top has mounting of four fruit bats and shou, which is the symbol of good luck in the centre. The carrying handle is brass fruit bat. The quality of this fine box is truly magnificent. The handles on the front are shaped as two artemesia leaves, beautifully styled and delicately detailed. The condition of this fine box is very good This box size H-24cm in height, 15.5cm in length and 12cm in depth.
