THIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL EDWARDIAN (I BELIEVE) OAK DESKTOP STATIONERY OR GAMES CABINET OF LARGE PROPORTIONS DATING FROM AROUND 1900 IN THE EDWARDIAN PERIOD*THIS ANTIQUE OAK GAMES BOX IS LINED WITH GREEN BAIZE/FELT WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GAMES BOX BUT COULD EQUALLY HAVE BEEN STATIONERY BOX.
IT HAS SLOPING FRONT, AMPLE SPACE INSIDE  PLUS TWO DRAWERS.
THE HANDLES ARE LOVELY EMBOSSED METAL AND VERY STRONG AS ARE HINGES WHICH ARE SHOWN UP CLOSE.
OVERALL THIS BOX IS IN GOOD CONDITION, WITH GOOD PATINA AND COLOUR. JUST SOME MINOR, SUPERFICIAL MARKS AS YOU WOULD EXPECT FOR BOX THAT IS OVER 100 YEARS OLD. MAY SOUND DAFT TO SAY BUT THE WOOD ACTUALLY HAS LOVELY FEEL TO IT AS WELL!!
