Estimated at 800 years old and from the Sung Dynasty.  It is believed that this was pot to hold mercury used in the gold refining process, excavated from shipwreck south of Borneo.
I have tried to research this item and am happy to give you any references have.  I am also interested to hear any expert opinions on these pots as have more of these pots.  I am not an archaeologist, so please do your own research on this item.  

18cm tall. 12cm wide. 1.5cm hole. Product May differ slightly from the photo
