19th Century Incised Australian Boomerang. Northern NSW/ Southern Queensland

This boomerang dates to later half of the 19thcentury and is in excellent condition
This style of boomerang (fighting boomerang) with its pinched ends was predominantly found inthe Lake Eyre Basin in New South Wales or southern Queensland, in Australia.
The front is decorated with intricately incised design (using possum or bushrat teeth)
Philip Jones from the South Australian Museum believes the meanderingdesign may represent the travels of an ancestor or meandering river.
There are remnants of white ochre or clay in the incised sections
The back is of plain design with slightly fluted pattern
It displays an old shiny patina, that would only come with usage and age.
Made of hardwood, probably Mulga, it is quite heavy
77 centimeters long and 5.8 centimeters at it's widest point
