Superb vintage studio pottery vase, American, circa 1958, the reddish-brown clay body of shapely waisted form with circular foot, finished with an abstract pattern of glazes in shades of gray, brown, tan, pale ocher, cobalt blue, salmon, green and black, approx. 4-5/8” tall, the underside with incised illegible monogram (GF?) and date “7/28/58.” In excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, or crazing. Though was unable to make solid attribution based on the monogram, the artist was clearly potter and decorator of exceptional skill. stunning addition to your collection of mid-century modern pottery, offered with no reserve!
