Beautiful colors and stitching on this cotton robe purchased in China while we were living overseas. It could be older than my estimate of early 1900's, just don't know. The hand embroidery is just amazing and covers nearly every surface.  It has tan cotton  lining typical of robes that were used at the time, it is in good condition.  Because of the sturdier material, this robe is in really solid condition.  There is wear to the embroidery near the bottom (see pics) more on front then back, but it would display well in frame or cabinet and not really show these areas.  It is 50" long.  The back is the same patterns and also fully covered in embroidery bit less wear at bottom.   A great piece, probably worth quite bit more if in perfect condition given the material and the fact that the dragons have claws each not this was possibly an opera piece or for lesser official.  We just don't have the room to display it now.Priced to sell!!From non-smoking home.
