Being offered is nice and interesting painted Indonesian textile.  This art piece is large measuring 50" wide by 28" tall.  The scene shows two opposing figures, each brandishing Keris by their side, with full entourage on each side.  Some of the figures depicted are wayang figures and it is interesting to note how all the figures have their hands positioned in very specific way.  Seems to be throwback to Hinduism and shows the influence of India in this part of the world.  There are vibrant colors throughout.  The textile is dirty overall and the borders are fraying.  Would look great framed or simply hung on the wall like tapestry.  Probably dates to the early 20th century, possibly earlier.  Please e-mail with any questions.  Please view my other auctions for great variety of swords, daggers, clubs and tribal art.
