Has some age and nicely carved with leaves, stems and fruit. Would have had divider inside that is missing, so probably cigar or cigarette box. Appears to be made of rosewood with quite thick panels. Has the brass lock escutcheon but missing the lock mechanism, and has newer lock plate screws on the underside of the lid. The hinges are original. Probably dating to between 1910-30s approximately? Possibly Dutch or even Maori Tiki in style? CONDITION: 　The panels and carving are in good condition. Couple of little nicks on the edges, and larger chip on the underside of one corner. Has the brass lock escutcheon but missing the lock mechanism, and has newer lock plate screws on the underside of the lid. The hinges are original. Missing the divider inside.
