Bristol English Victorian Era Portrait Vase. This piece just screams late Victorian era. JIP vase Called Jack in the Pulpit vase due to shape of the vase. Bohemian made vases are done in transparent glass which separates this vase from the usual? It is made of opal colored glass which is an opaque glass. Gorgeous center is double portrait Colonial Couple on swing. This portion of the vase is transfer. Within Medallian which borders are done in hand enameled florals.Entire basic color is mint green which has finish on it creating an aged look. Above the foot of the vase all enamel isFired on to the glass. The oval shaped foot enamel has not been fired on to the glass. Again to give the vase an aged appearance.The top rim has 24 crimpsNo glass structure chips or cracks. No scratches. Hand blown rough pontil.Back of the vase has an enameled grass plant image.Measures: Back of vase is 10.5 inches, front height is inches- top rim is 5.5 long 4.5 deepVase has been throughly cleaned.
